ORANGE SYRUP FRENCH-TOAST
MAKES 4 SERVINGS. HALF RECIPE FOR 2.
3 eggs
1/4 cup plus 1 tbs sugar or Splenda
1 cup lowfat milk
Grated zest of 1 orange
2 tbs orange juice
1 tbs vanilla
4 croissants
1/2 cup orange marmalade
Whisk eggs, 1/4 cup sugar, milk, zest, juice and vanilla in a bowl. Put croissants in an 8" square baking dish. Pour egg mixture over croissants. Let soak in fridge 30 min. Heat oven to 350 degrees. Bake croissants until set 40 min. *Remove from oven, turn on broiler. Uncover baking dish, sprinkle with remaining sugar, broil until sugar is bubbling. Mix marmalade with 1/4 cup water in a bowl, microwave until warm 2 min. SERVE on the side & ENJOY...
