[SimplifyMe] Brisket Sandwiches {SlowCooker}

 

BRISKET SANDWICHES SLOWCOOKER
MAKES 6 SANDWICHES.

1/2 cup ketchup
1 tbs brown sugar
1 tbs cider vinegar
1 tbs Worcestershire
1/2 tbs brown mustard
1 tsp sweet paprika
1/2 tsp smoked paprika
1/4 tsp salt
1/8 tsp cayenne pepper
3/4 pound beef brisket
1 onion, sliced
2 cloves garlic, chopped
12 slices bread
1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar
6 tbs unsalted butter

In a bowl, combine ketchup, sugar, vinegar, Worcestershire and mustard. Stir until smooth. In another bowl, combine paprikas, salt and cayenne. Rub into brisket. Pour half the barbecue sauce into bottom of a slowcooker. *PLACE brisket on top. Scatter onion and garlic over brisket, pour remaining sauce over it. Cook on low 8 hours. Remove brisket. Allow to cool slightly. Chop brisket into chunks. Toss with 3/4 cup sauce, onion and garlic. *SCOOP 1/4 cup brisket onto a slice of bread. Top with 1/4 cup cheddar. Press down with another slice of bread. Repeat with remaining brisket, cheddar and bread. Heat 3 tbs butter in a skillet. Cook sandwiches until cheese is melted and bread is browned.
