MEATY VEGGIE BURGERS
MAKES 4 SERVINGS. HALF RECIPE FOR 2.
1 pound ground beef
8 oz Italian sausage, casings removed
1 clove garlic, grated
1/4 tsp dried oregano
Salt and Pepper
1 onion, sliced
2 bell peppers, cut into strips
2 tbs oil
4 slices cheese
4 hamburger buns, split
4 basil leaves, torn
Warmed marinara sauce
Potato chips
Combine beef, sausage, garlic, oregano, salt and pepper in a bowl, mix until combined. Form into 4 patties, set aside. Heat a grill. Toss onion and bell peppers with oil, salt and pepper in a bowl. Grill vegetables until lightly browned and tender. Transfer to a plate, set aside. BRUSH grill with oil. Add burgers, cook until browned and cooked through, topping with cheese, covering during last 2 min. Serve burgers on buns, top with onion pepper mixture, basil and marinara sauce. SERVE with chips & ENJOY...
