BERRY MERINGUE DESSERT
MAKES 4 SERVINGS.
4 egg whites
1 cup powdered sugar
1 tsp white vinegar
1/2 tsp vanilla
3/4 cup heavy cream
2 cups strawberries, hulled, sliced
Heat oven to 350 degrees. Line a baking sheet with parchment. Trace an 8" circle on parchment, then flip parchment over. *In a bowl, whip egg whites until foamy, then continue to whip, adding sugar, until mixture is stiff. Fold in vanilla and vinegar. *Spread meringue into an 8" circle on parchment, making a shallow well 5" in diameter in center. Reduce oven temp to 200 degrees. Bake until outside of meringue is lightly crisp and barely browned but inside is still soft, 1 hour 30 min. Turn off oven, crack open door, let meringue cool inside oven. *Just before serving, whip cream until stiff peaks. Spread on top of meringue. Top with berries. SERVE immediately & ENJOY...
