[SimplifyMe] Bittersweet Chocolate {Ice-Cream}

 

BITTERSWEET CHOCOLATE ICE-CREAM
MAKES 1 QUART.

6 oz bittersweet chocolate, chopped
1 cup milk
1/2 cup sugar
6 egg yolks
1 3/4 cups heavy cream
2 tsp vanilla

Put chocolate in a bowl, microwave in 40 second intervals, until melted. Whisk until smooth, set aside. Combine milk, sugar and yolks in a pan. Cook until sugar dissolves and mixture is slightly thick. Strain custard into a blender. *ADD chocolate, pulse until smooth. Add cream and vanilla, pulse until combined. Transfer to a bowl, cover with plastic wrap, refrigerate 3 hours. Transfer custard to an ice cream maker, churn according to manufacturers instructions. Transfer to a container, freeze until firm.
