Re: [SgFreecycle] Re: Suggestion to Admin & all

I totally agree that those in need sometimes not able to pick up full set like one of my taker actually only taken one out two sofa seats but after understand their constrain then I let him take only the 2 seater.. And the other half still sitting at my place and might be difficult to find new owner.

It's good if we can let other knows the items are taken and taken by who. However as a giver sometime it could be painful especially givers who giving lots of items as he gotta keep track of basically everything.

Basically giver maybe try to understand the diff needs from emails they received and not giving to the first comer who emailed them.

And, if really no taker for those item then we can pass it on to commercial companies so at least the items are given second chance. This would be truly recycling. But there are some cases might not applicable though.

Just my 2 cents.

They will never be as fast, efficient, prompt as companies and they have specific needs as their house is small. They may not be able collect whole set of furnitures as they do not have space for them. Sometimes our criteria of picking the fastest responder and request that they pick up everything that are offered within 3 days naturally eliminates those who truly needs it and favours commercial collectors. So are we willing to give up a little convenience just to make sure things go to the right people?

I support the practice of putting email of collectors down , and may I suggest, maybe even the phone number too.
