GLAZED STICKY BUNS
MAKES 9 BUNS.
TOPPING---
2/3 cup brown sugar
3 tbs butter
2 tbs honey
2 tbs corn syrup
1/2 cup pecans, toasted, chopped
DOUGH---
2 tbs warm water
2 1/4 tsp instant yeast
3 cups flour
1/3 cup brown sugar
1 1/2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp baking soda
3/4 tsp salt
1 cup buttermilk
1 egg
5 tbs butter, melted
FILLING---
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 1/2 tsp cinnamon
1 tbs butter, melted
1/2 cup pecans, toasted, chopped
Heat oven to 375 degrees. Grease 8" square baking pan. MAKE TOPPING---In measuring cup, combine brown sugar, butter, honey and corn syrup. Microwave on high 1 min. Stir until smooth. Spread half of topping in pan. Sprinkle with pecans. MAKE DOUGH---In bowl, combine water and yeast. In bowl, combine flour, brown sugar, baking powder, baking soda and salt. To bowl with yeast, whisk in buttermilk, egg and butter until smooth, stir into flour mixture. Set aside. Knead dough until smooth. Roll into 12x10" rectangle. MAKE FILLING---Combine sugar and cinnamon. Brush dough with butter. Sprinkle with sugar mixture and 1/2 cup pecans. Roll dough into log. Cut into 9 slices, place in pan. Bake buns 32 min. or until golden. MAKE GLAZE---In bowl, stir together 3/4 cup powdered sugar and 1 tbs water until smooth. Remove buns from oven, place plate over pan, invert buns onto plate. Cool slightly. TO SERVE---Microwave topping on high until runny. Drizzle over buns along with glaze. SERVE & ENJOY...
