A new store opened in our city a month ago I guess. It was a Dollar General Market. We went prepared to be non-enthused lol. I was pleasantly surprised. It still has the basic general merchandise, but it has a full albiet small, fully stocked grocery section.
We walked out with 10 lbs of lean ground beef and 10 pounds of lean ground chuck that ended up costing a little over a dollar a pound. How long ago was it that we saw those prices. This meat was going out of date in 1 1/2 days. A manager heard me say that we better cut it open to find gray meat. He opened a pack and broke it open. Pretty in pink! We came home and hubby launched into prep frenzy.
The produce was fresh, Again not a lot of it, but it all looked great. Name brand items as well as Clover Valley which I think is their brand. We got chicken breasts and wings and thighs.
We have patties made up for burgers, packages of beef for meatloaf, chili. I am sooo happy!
