[SimplifyMe] Vanilla Malted {Cake}

 

VANILLA MALTED CAKE
MAKES 8 SERVINGS.

12 oz store bought angel food cake
1 1/2 cups heavy cream
1/4 cup plus 2 tbs malted milk powder
1 1/2 quarts vanilla ice cream, softened
White sprinkles

TRIM brown crust off cake, thinly slice cake. Whisk 1/2 cup cream and 1/4 cup malted milk powder in a bowl until powder is mostly dissolved, let sit 5 min. then whisk until powder is completely dissolved and thickened. Coat bottom and side of a tube pan with cooking spray. Press half of the cake slices into bottom of pan and slightly up the sides. Drizzle half of the malted cream over cake slices. SCOOP half of the ice cream into pan, spread to make an even layer. Press some of the remaining cake slices on top of the ice cream to make an even layer. Drizzle with remaining malted cream. Repeat. Cover with plastic wrap, freeze until firm. Loosen edges of cake, then invert onto a platter. Beat remaining cream and 2 tbs malted milk powder until stiff peaks form. Spread over top and sides of cake, top with sprinkles, then SERVE...
