3 INGREDIENT COOKIES Makes 9 cookies.
In a bowl, cream 1 cup unsalted butter and 1/2 cup sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in 2 cups flour. Press dough into a greased 9" square baking pan. Bake at 325° for 35 min. or until lightly browned. Cool 10 min. before removing from pan to a wire rack to cool completely. Cut into 9 squares, dust with powdered sugar or use paper stencils for making snowflake designs. To make a white snowflake, tap powdered sugar over stencil through a fine mesh sieve. FLAKY PIECRUST Makes 1 piecrust.
In a food processor, combine 1 1/4 cups flour, 1 tbs sugar, and 1/2 tsp kosher salt. Add 1/2 cup cold unsalted butter, cut into small pieces, and pulse until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Add 1 tbs white vinegar and 1 tbs ice cold water, pulsing until dough is crumbly but holds together when squeezed. Do not over mix.
TRANSFER dough to a piece of plastic wrap and shape into 1" thick disk. Wrap tightly and refrigerate until firm, 1 hour. Roll and fill as desired, then SERVE...
