I would like to caution people who collect their items from strangers without checking the items and just leave. Singapore being a safe place, people are very trusting and would assume it's safe to take things from strangers. A scenario would collecting item at the MRT gate. I think it's best one checks all the items before boarding the train. And it's not just the MRT. One should always check the items before leaving in any situation.
And as far as possible, you should check the items in the presence of the other person.
