Hi all,
I recently adopted a rescue dog, Rico, who was probably abandoned and is now suffering from major separation anxiety when I go to work. Having had a dog behavioural specialist visit today, she suggested that we needed much more variety in his toys to keep him occupied when he is alone.
He currently had several kongs, and a kong wobbler, as well as a few chew toys. He is not really interested in any chew toy that doesn't taste of food!
The behaviourist suggested we try:
1. a buster cube
2. a chuck it ball
3. stag bar/ antler based chew toys
4. nylabone/marrowbone chew toys
5. any other interactive feeding toy, particularly if it's difficult to use (such as those intended for horses).
If anybody has any of these that they have bought for their dog, but the dog didn't like it, I would really appreciate any cast offs!
I can collect at weekends and in the evening,
many thanks,
Aimee and Rico (woof!)
