Large amount of computer stuff to give away.
I'd ideally like someone (with more time and space than I can currently devote to it all) to come and take all of this.
The exceptions would be the printer/scanner and Dell Optiplex desktop, which make sense to go individually.
Preference will be given to polite messages :-)
* The iMac and the toshiba laptop are really really old, and are probably only any use to an enthusiast / tweaker - e.g. although both could technically browse the web, it would be a fairly painful experience.
* The DELL Optiplex is a perfectly usable system as is, albeit obviously old and quite limited.
* The AMD Athlon tower could be a decent system, albeit far from cutting-edge, but the installed hard disk seems to have a problem and probably needs to be replaced.
iMac (1st generation / in bondi blue?)
-----------------------------------
* powerpc G3 333mhz
* 160mb memory
* 6gb hdd
* builtin ethernet / 2x usb 1.1
* tray-load CDROM (the one in the machine is a replacement with a purple button, but I'll include the original - I'm not sure it works though)
* integrated 1024x768(?) monitor
* original apple USB keyboard & 'puck' mouse
* power cable
* Currently lubuntu 12.04 (powerpc) installed - seems to work okayish, but there are some fairly serious graphics artifacts, which may be soluble with some tweaking to the xorg.conf? If I can find them, I'll also provide the apple CDs with the original Mac OS8/9?
* If I was keeping this, I might try and turn it into a retro TV using linux with a compatible digital TV USB device?
* Alternatively, might make a nice ornament or very large retro CD player?
Dell OptiPlex GX100
-------------------
* intel celeron 1100mhz
* 512mb pc100 memory
* 13gb maxtor hdd
* 48x CDROM drive
* built-in ethernet / 2x usb 1.1
* built-in intel 82810 vga/dsub graphics
* serial + parallel ports
* PCI sound card
* 2 free PCI slots
* power cable
* SORRY - no keyboard, mouse, monitor or speakers
* Currently lubuntu 12.04 (i386) installed - seems to work nicely.
AMD Athlon tower
----------------
* AMD Athlon(TM) XP 2000+
* ASUS A7V333 motherboard (Apollo KT266)
* 1gb DDR memory (512 + 256 + 256) - the motherboard can take more than this
* agp ATI Radeon 7500 vga/dsub graphics
* built-in audio, including mic + headphones on front of case
* 4x USB 1.1 slots
* 4x USB 2.0 slots (including 2 on the front)
* pci realtek ethernet card
* 30gb maxtor hdd (which seems to have bad sectors - probably needs to be replaced)
* sony CD-R/CD-RW writer
* optiarc DVD writer
* new quiet CPU fan + two fans inside the case which are not currently connected
* power cable
* SORRY - no keyboard, mouse, monitor or speakers
* Currently lubuntu 12.04 i386 installed - seems to work nicely, but NB comment about apparent bad sectors on HDD.
Toshiba Satellite Pro 490CDT
----------------------------
* intel pentium II 233mhz
* 160mb memory
* 4gb hdd
* 1 x USB 1.1 port
* vga out / serial / parallel
* swappable CDROM / external floppy
* PCMCIA ethernet card
* original case + power supply
* n.b. this is fully functional, but it is an ancient laptop - the builtin screen only has a resolution of 800x600, although it can do 1024x768 via the vga/dsub output.
* it made a good low-power server for a while with the addition of a PCMCIA USB card (not included)

Dell All-in-One Photo 926
-------------------------
* all-in-one printer / scanner
* USB connection, with built-in multi-memory card reader (SD / MS / xD / MMC / CF) and 'PictBridge'. You can apparently print directly from memory cards, and compatible cameras.
* I've read that these are basically Lexmark printers with Dell branding.
* Drivers are available from Dell website: http://www.dell.com/support/drivers/us/en/04/DriverDetails/DriverFileFormats?c=us&s=bsd&cs=04&l=en&DriverId=R135416
* I can only see drivers for Windows XP (and 2000), so I'm not sure if this will work with Vista or Windows 7.
* I am fairly certain it doesn't work with Linux, and probably not with Mac OSX.
* There are colour and black cartridges in there (it takes one of each - both dell series 9), but they both seem to be totally empty.
* Includes power and USB cables. In generally good condition, with the odd scuff.
box of various bits and pieces
------------------------------
including...
* 3x floppy drives (+ some cables)
* (very) small fujitsu hdd
* 2x PCI modems
* dell daughterboard?
* (large) AGP dual DVI nvidia GF 6800 XTreme 256mb DDR3 graphics card
* 2x old PCI VGA graphics cards (1 matrox mystique? / 1 s3 virge?)
* set of usb-powered speakers
* old 4-way KVM switch (VGA + PS2 keyboard / mouse connectors)
