When I renovate my house, I disconected a gas fire in the lounge.
It is the sort that has a vent which goes up the chimney.
The front lights up and is coal effect.
Previously, it was working fine and had been inspected by British Gas about a year ago. You'd need to satisfy yourself that it is safe, though.
Please let me know if interested - it would be a shame to chuck it in a skip.
