Hi,
I have a Palit nVidia GTX680 video card purchased in 2012 to give away.
It still works ok in 2D desktop mode but has started hanging in 3D
games, causing the whole computer to lock up and requiring a reboot.
I know the card is faulty as I've tested it in two different PCs and was
able to reproduce the problem, which didn't occur when I used a
different video card. Someone with the right skills and equipment might
be able to fix it. Or not!
Unfortunately, I don't know enough to be able to diagnose exactly what
the issue is. I don't think it's overheating as the fan is still working
so it's probably something on the motherboard. Anyway, if anyone would
like it to tinker with they are welcome, it is still a capable card that
can run today's games (e.g. Witcher 3) at HD resolution (1920x1080) when
it's working properly,
thanks,
Luke
