Found another smart key lying around at home. I am already using one so giving this spare one away.
When plugged into the headphone jack of an Android smartphone, it can activate common phone functions such as wake up screen, take photos and record sounds via clicks/long press.
It cannot be used with iOS devices. Android 4 and above is needed for it to work.
