Hi everyone,
My name is Shaun Ng from NYP's environmental club GEO Council. GEO Council is currently organizing our inaugural Festival of Upcycled Arts.
Upcycling is the art of "turning trash into treasure" and it challenges an individual's creativity to transform everyday discarded items into something that is beautiful and functional in this world.
This event aims to engage youths in the wonderful art of turning trash into treasure through upcycling. These art works are purely made from recycled materials such as plastic bottles, old magazines, etc.
These artworks have a deeper meaning, symbolizing that everything and everyone has a purpose, despite appearances; and that even discarded items can be turned into treasure with creativity, determination and passion (i.e. head, hand & heart).
The theme for the inaugural Festival of Upcycled Arts is the "Our City in a Garden", and we hope to be able to engage you to help us collect various discards for us to use in our workshop on the 27th October. This is the list of materials needed.
