NUTTY PEAR-TART
MAKES 8 SERVINGS.
2/3 cup chopped hazelnuts, toasted
1/2 cup sugar
2 tbs unsalted butter
1/8 tsp salt
1 egg
1/2 of a 14.1 oz pkg pie dough
2 pears, peeled, cored, cut into slices
2 tsp lemon juice
2 tbs apple jelly
1 tsp water
HEAT oven to 375 degrees. Place 2 tbs hazelnuts in a bowl, set aside. Place remaining hazelnuts and sugar in a food processor, process until ground. Add butter, salt and egg, process until a smooth paste forms. Roll pie dough into a 16x12" rectangle. Fit dough into a tart pan, coated with baking spray. Press dough against bottom and sides of pan. Spread hazelnut mixture over bottom of dough. BAKE 20 min. or until lightly browned. Remove from oven. Toss pears with lemon juice. Arrange pear slices in pan. Bake 25 min. or until pears are tender. Remove from oven. Place jelly and 1 tsp water in a microwave bowl, microwave at high until mixture boils. Brush top of tart with jelly mixture, sprinkle with remaining hazelnuts. Cool in pan before slicing. SERVE & ENJOY...
