how do you attach them to the window? The dye sticks to the plastic?
Our house is about 100 years old and the windows are not good. I usually tack heavy plastic over the whole window and that REALLY  works well. I made the mistake of taking it off last year and couldnt believe the heat that came through!! wont do that again.
After reading about the film I called but its lpretty expensive and we have lots of windowsl

When I built my home in 1994,I could only afford the single pane ones. But they are only 3'X 4'. Two years ago I bought a large roll of small bubble wrap. Cut to fit inside windows,colored a few in living room and kitchen with Rite dye. Makes a great storm window. Roll them up and store for the summer. Saves us about $30-40.00 a month on heating  and gives a cool look. Much easier than the film thing and are re-usable. We don't AC but use  a 36"  attic fan W/timer. Home is only 750 Sq feet.
