SPICY MOLASSES RIBS
MAKES 4 SERVINGS. HALF RECIPE FOR 2.
2 slabs pork ribs
DRY RUB---
2 cups brown sugar or Splenda
1/2 cup dry mustard
1 tbs each onion powder, cayenne, paprika, and garlic powder
BARBECUE SAUCE---
2 tbs canola oil
1 onion, diced
Two 6 oz cans tomato paste
1/2 cup brown sugar or Splenda
2/3 cup apple cider vinegar
1/4 cup molasses
1/2 tsp cayenne pepper
1/4 tsp paprika
In bowl, mix together rub ingredients, salt and pepper, massage into ribs. Let sit 1 hour. *FOR SAUCE---In pot, heat oil. Add onions, cook until translucent. Stir in next 6 sauce ingredients, 3 cups water, salt and pepper. Let simmer 45 min. *On grill, place ribs. Cook 1 hour. Turn ribs every 30 min. and baste with barbecue sauce. Cook ribs until tender 4 hours. SERVE & ENJOY...
