Dear Freecyclers,
I volunteer with a home for intellectually disabled (special needs) people. We help to take care of intellectually disabled so that their caregivers eg. parents, can go to work in the day or at least have some rest.
The manager and teachers in this day-care centre care a lot for our "kids" and give them enrichment activities to help them improve their daily living and communication skills. Personally, I teach them computer skills once a week. It requires a lot of patience to manage some of them and after 2 hours, I am already exhausted. So I really understand why parents want to send their intellectually disabled children to the centre.
There is a long waiting list for our day-care centre and we are opening a new room for them. If you have any of the following items to give away, we hope you can consider giving to us:
- Projector
- Overhead projector
- Projector screen
- Whiteboard
- Computer
- Drawer/ Cabinet
