Re: [SimplifyMe] Itchy cat advice

How is your cat doing?  If she is not better, consider feeding a totally grain free food.  if you are feeding kibble get a food that has no corn, soy, wheat or white or brown rice or animal by-products or animal digest.I feed my cats Fromm grain free and I believe Nature's Lodgic is another good brand.  You can check out their websites.  Food allergies can be exaserbated by the feeding of grains as they can contain molds and fungus and cats do not digest grains well.  They are carnivores so they need as much protein as you can give them.

Hi.
I hope this is not considered spam. I'm going to recommend a website that does "sell" you stuff:

http://www.veterinarysecretsrevealed.com/holiday/

BUT, you might be able to search the site or even email Dr. Jones and find out some info.

Dr. Jones offers up a lot of "heal your pet at home" ideas with as close to "natural" as you can get. I think you'd get alot of GOOD ideas there.

My main thought is that, if you can afford it, get the "trial" size Cat Supplement he sells. I feed the dog one to my little house dog and it works GREAT on her. A very noticeable difference in the way she acts & feels when she is taking the supplement. I would assume it would work as well for cats.

PS--I am not affiliated with this site at all. I spend my "hard earned" money to buy the supplement from them for my little dog, "Annie". I don't make any money from them and I don't get any "referral" money from them if you DO buy something from then. I'm just telling you a "suggestion" of what works for me/my animals.

If your vet said she has a skin condition did she take a skin scraping to determine what the skin condition is so it can be treated properly?  If it is a dry skin or dermititis you could try bathing her in a oatmeal or Emu oil based shampoo and rinse throughly.  My cat loves to lick a blob of x virgin coconut oil off my finger everyday and this helps to prevent hairballs and is very good for the skin.  You could also try squeezing a capsule of salmon or fish oil onto the kitty's  food.  I would quiz the vet about what the skin condition is otherwise you are just prolonging the kitty's misery trrying things that don't work.  There are vets that specialize in dermotology and you might want to consult with one of them The skin problem might also be a reflection of something else going on inside the kitty so a complete physical and blood pannel would be a good thing to do, including a thyroid test.
