I've known this for a long time. It all started when I found myself
with food allergies, I'm allergic to strawberries, but reacted to
peach yogurt.
After I was out of the hospital, I started reading about what was in
our food. I do cat rescue, was heavy into it then, and, out of
curiosity, started looking at that.
I feed a high quality kibble because they insist on kibble, but I buy
meat for all of us, they get their portion raw with a few supplements,
like nutritional yeast.
Honestly, you get what you pay for in pet food. If you're interested,

pet food. You may not agree with it all, but read it and do your own
research.
