Re: [SgFreecycle] Re: Fussy Freecyclers - How to deal with them?

[Moderator's note: With this we conclude this thread. The idea of
Free Recycle is all about making reasonably working/serviceable
items available. Naturally, there will be those who would like to
tinker and fix items as well. It is all caveat emptor (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Caveat_emptor).]

I agree. Some freecyclers try to give away things that are in bad condition (that cannot be reused). Do they expect the recipient to help them to dispose? I think we have a basic duty to assess the condition of the item and describe them correctly before offering them to fellow freecyclers.

We must learn to give unconditionally :-) and having to meet all sort of people - good bad and ugly.

Yes, I think it's not right to bar or ban them before you truly understand and know that they are not genuine taker. For instance, I know one of the donor/ taker that you mentioned and black listed, who is a genuine taker (Joseph) and he donated some of the items he taken to charity purposes. He also blessed me with some useful items as well so I think you might have judge too quickly?

Surely, there are fussy ppl like one of your listed fellow who scolded me just because I am not able to make it on time and SMS him to change timing but I kena scolded (which is rude, because I have apologized as I have to work late therefore I SMS in advanced)

Anyway, happy recycling!

Here it is as suggested by the Moderator, starting with people who asked for exercise equipment and massage chairs that I specified were only for charities, hospitals or children's homes. I've even been asked if I can deliver free the massage chairs..!
