Hi Jean. Just for purposes of discussion, the biggest problem that most people have with locally grown food that they buy is the price. Produce at Walmart, Meijers, Kroger, etc. are all cheaper because of the low wages paid to the pickers for them. Local farmers want to be paid a living wage for their food and therefore more accurately reflect what it costs to grow it with a profit. Again this is just for discussion and is neither positive nor negative. Personally I like the idea of buying locally and have many farmer friends who sell their produce here.
